mission

The mission of The Africa Society is to be the premiere entity that engages
and educates Americans about the countries comprising the continent of
Africa and to create, through partnerships, a better understanding of its
peoples, diverse cultures, histories and economies.

We work to aid in the sociopolitical development of the continent by promoting a mutual understanding and increased partnership with leaders, businesses, organizations, and people on the continent and other leaders, Africa-focused institutions and people in the United States.

Our programs focus on providing information and education about Africa to all Americans through research, writing, and seminars that focus on the fields of policy, business, arts, culture, and education.
